John Travers is a qualified Personal Trainer with a Certificate III and IV in Fitness, living and working in Canberra. He is also a Stretch Therapy Teacher, and Strength and Flexibility Instructor. John runs group exercise classes in Canberra, as well as lunchtime workplace workouts and personal training sessions.
When John turned 30 it served as a catalyst for him to improve his health and fitness. He decided to change the way he trained by saying ‘no’ to mainstream gyms. He started attending Kit Laughlin’s former Monkey Gym at the Australian National University in Canberra where he discovered how to exercise the fun way! It’s even where he met his wife!
Training with Kit Laughlin gave John an insight into non-conventional training methods and how getting ‘back to basics’ delivers the best results. John soon qualified as a Personal Trainer, Strength & Flexibility Instructor, and Stretch Therapy Teacher and worked at the Monkey Gym before it closed in 2013. Since then John has kept the spirit of the Monkey Gym alive in Canberra by running his own Strength and Flexibility classes where you can continue to exercise the fun way!
